NEW WORKSHOP: Writing From The Senses

presents

A three-part workshop in our Nature Loving Series:

Writing From The Senses

“All we have to believe is our senses: the tools we use to perceive the world, our sight, our touch, our memory.” Neil Gaiman

At a time that feels fraught with discord and disconnection, how can we re-establish connection to ourselves, each other and the natural world? One tried-and-true way is to pay attention to our senses and write unique stories from our own lived experiences.

“Smell is a potent wizard that transports you across thousands of miles and all the years you have lived.” Helen Keller

Best selling author Jennie Shortridge will facilitate this three-session Zoom workshop. Participants will:

  • Use our senses to explore nature—our own and that around us

  • Work on writing prompts and exercises

  • Set an achievable writing goal for ourselves

  • Share our work, as we feel comfortable to do so

You will come away with new skills for writing, experiencing and connecting, and possibly a new writing buddy or two.

“How do I know what I think till I see what I say?” W.H. Auden

This workshop is for any level of writer from “always-wanted-to” to advanced. We will create a friendly, encouraging atmosphere in which to explore, write, and reconnect to the things that matter most to us through the written word.

This workshop will be live-streamed via Zoom. Class time is Central time.

Jennie will teach participants in this workshop to deepen our intimacy with nature through writing.
